2020 In A Nutshell So Far

Dear Diary: 2020
In January, Australia caught on fire. I don’t even know if that fire was put out, because we straight up almost went to war with Iran. We might actually still be almost at war with them. I don’t know, because Jen Aniston and Brad Pitt spoke to one another at an awards show and everyone flipped the fuck out, but then Netflix released Cheer and everyone fell in love with Jerry, but then there was the thing happening in China, then Prince Harry and Meghan peaced out of the Royal family, and there was the whole impeachment trial, and then corona virus showed up in the US “officially,” but then Kobe died and UK peaced out of the European Union.

In February, Iowa crapped itself with the caucus results and the president was acquitted and the Speaker of the House took ten years to rip up a speech, but then WHO decided to give this virus a name COVID-19, which confused some really important people in charge of, like, our lives, into thinking there were 18 other versions before it, but then Harvey Weinstein was found guilty, and Americans started asking if Corona beer was safe to drink, and everyone on Facebook became a doctor who just knew the flu like killed way more people than COVID 1 through 18.

In March, shit hit the fan. Warren dropped out of the presidential race and Sanders was like Bernie or bust, but then Italy shut its whole ass down, and then COVID Not 1 through 18 officially become what everyone already realized, a pandemic and then a nationwide state of emergency was declared in US, but it didn’t really change anything, so everyone was confused or thought it was still just a flu, but then COVID Not 18 was like ya’ll not taking me seriously? I’m gonna infect the one celebrity everyone loves and totally infected Tom Hanks, but then the DOW took a shit on itself, and most of us still don’t understand why the stock market is so important or even a thing(I still don’t), but then we were all introduced to Tiger King. (Carol totally killed her husband), and Netflix was like you’re welcome, and we all realized there was no way we were washing our hands enough in the first place because all of our hands are now dry and gross.

In April, Bernie finally busted himself out of the presidential race, but then NYC because the set of The Walking Dead and we learn that no one has face masks, ventilators, or toilet paper, or THE GOD DAMN SWIFTER WET JET LIQUID, but then Kim Jong-Un died, but then he came back to life… or did he? Who knows, because then the Pentagon released videos of UFOs, and we were like man, it’s only April….

In May, the biblical end times kicked off historical locust swarms and then we learned of murder hornets and realized that 2020 was the start of the Hunger Games but people forgot to let us know, but then people legit protested lockdown measures with AR-15s, and then sports events were cancelled everywhere, But then people all over America finally reached a breaking point with race issues and violence. There were protests in every city, but then people totes forgot about the pandemic called COVID Not One Through 18. Media struggled with how to focus on two important things at once, but then people in general struggle to focus on more than one important thing, and a dead whale was found in the middle of the Amazon rain forest after monkeys stole COVID 1 Through 19 from a lab and ran off with them, and either in May or April (no one is keeping track of time now) that a giant asteroid narrowly missed earth.

In June, science and common sense just got thrown straight out the window and somehow wearing masks became a political thing, but then a whole lot of people realized the south was actually the most unpatriotic thing ever and actually lost the civil war, and there is a large amount of people who feel that statues they don’t even know the name of are needed for … history reasons, but then everyone sort of remembered there was a pandemic, but then decided that not wearing a mask was somehow a god given right (still haven’t found that part in the bible or even in the constitution), but then scientists announced they found a mysterious undiscovered mass at the center of the earth, and everyone was like DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH IT, but then everyone took a pause to realize that people actually believed Gone With The Wind was like non-fiction, but then it was also announced that there is a strange radio signal coming from somewhere in the universe that repeats itself every so many days, and everyone was like DON’T YOU DARE ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH IT, but then America reopened from the shut down that actually wasn’t even a shut down, and so far, things have gone spectacularly not that great, but everyone is on Facebook arguing that masks kill because no one knows how breathing works, but then Florida was like hold my beer and let me show you how we’re number one in all things, including new Not Corona Beer Corona Virus, Trump decides now is a good time to ask the Supreme Court to shut down Obama Care because what better time to do so than in the middle of a pandemic, but then we learned there was a massive dust cloud coming straight at us from the Sahara Desert, which is totally normal, but this is 2020, so the ghost mummy thing is most likely in that dust cloud, but then I learned of meth-gators, and I’m like that is so not on my fucking 2020 Bingo card, but then we learned that the Congo’s worse ever Ebola outbreak is over, and we were all like, there was an ebola outbreak that was the worse ever?

In July…. Aliens? Zeus? Asteroids? Artificial Intelligence becomes self aware? Return of the dinosaurs?

Events are not going to everyone else’s plans and we have to try to find out what is the truth.  We may need some help.

Russia Again? The Media Storm.

Early Sunday morning and the news sites are crying about Russia again.  After a quick search you can find them.  You read the headlines and really tell that they are just spouting propaganda.  Their source(s) are thin air or they are former employees of so and so agency that mean nothing to the public because they just need a name for their stories.  I have no doubt that they may know something, but how factual it may be is not communicated in the story.  If they had worked in the government and is now a front person in a private company, you almost have to assume that the reason they are talking is only to boost their pockets.  The list below can’t even decide if the “Russians” are trying to help Bernie or Trump.

The following are trying to get people riled up because Trump booted Joseph Maguire possibly because he allowed his underlings to give a classified brief to the House Intelligence Committee possibly without having any hard facts, just rumors and innuendo and we know the House Intelligence Committee is well known as an oxymoron these days.

The Washington Times is the only one that said that this is not just a Russia problem with a quote from some underling under Maguire that we have to watch out for everyone with axe to grind or butter to spread.

“This is not a Russia-only problem,” Shelby Pierson, the election security threats executive for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, said last month. “Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, non-state hacktivists all have opportunity, means and potentially motive to come after the United States in the 2020 election to accomplish their goals.”

Sounds like CYA.

Remember the saying: If you fail once, keep trying.  Is this what the media will do for the election cycle?  When we get back to real reporting and real stories?

Tsk, Tsk, Mr. Comey

So you got fired. Then you wrote a book.  Now you are running around all the Media networks trying to say how true the book is and such.  The first couple of days, you were the talk of the Media town.  The job you held was to be unpolitical and as center of the road as you can get.  We have equal justice for all.  Right?  The ones that worked under you were to follow your lead(s).   You Failed the American People.

Even the Media elite are starting to wonder if anything you say is true. Those of us that are not part of the DC Swamp or extreme sides of the Left or the Right are even sure you know what a Truth is anymore.  Your so called book only covers one area of your life and that you may have been fired with cause.  One would have assume that at one time you may have been a good at your job, but with all the media coverage starting from many years ago, the common folk have figured out which side of your bread is buttered.  It is not the side that works for them.

The only reason I may watch the morning news is to watch the different weather person try to outguess Mother Nature. They have the only job that does not require the truth all the time because Mother Nature can really throw a curve ball sometimes.  The kicker is that they still get paid for lying.  The rest of the news is so slanted that they tell the slant so good that it is hard to know if it is the truth or just their side of the truth.

Now, to get back to Mr. Comey’s book. Will I read it?  The answer will be: “No”.  Why?  Why should I read a book by someone that failed to do his job.  Under his watch, a high level person(s) or someone that think they are above the law, broke the law.  Even gave public news conference in which they admitted that they did something wrong and was never charged with the crime or taken in front of the Judicial bench to answer for their wrongdoing.  Whereas, if I or any one of us common people had done the same thing, we would be sitting in jail still waiting for the investigation to end.

Why do we have laws and nobody will follow them?

You read or see a report in the newspaper, on TV, or hear it on the radio. Do you accept it as true or do you dismiss it as propaganda?  In the last few years you cannot accept anything at face value anymore.  You will actually find more truth at the local coffee shop or gossip mill than you will find in print or on the boob tube.  Gone are the days when you could pick up the paper or tune into the news on the television and be confident that what you read or heard was the truth or really, really close to the real truth you would ever get to outside a courtroom or a church confessional.

We used to rely on the Media to gather all the facts and then present them to us as un-biased as they could. Now, they would rather speculate some out of this world story that fits their agenda.  Remember when they would do all sorts of things to get ALL the facts before trying to tell us what has happened?  Some of those reporters really went too far at times but the Truth or as close to the Truth came out.

Do you remember growing up and first learning about the Truth? As we got older the Truth started to have varying degrees of Truth to fit the needs of the one telling it.  As it stands now, you cannot trust what the media is telling us and you most definitely cannot believe what our elected officials keep spouting.

We need to take every story told to us and do our own research to try to find the real TRUTH. Unfortunately, most people today cannot handle the Truth.

What Are We Missing?

In the last couple of weeks there has been a sudden onslaught sexual allegations against several ranking members of the political elite and media stars and moguls. I have no clue if any of these allegations are true or possible fabrications.  Even if one has studied the human psyche, one would still end up shaking their head in disbelief of the overwhelming out pouring of allegations popping out at the same time.

You have some allegations that showed up with proof and that person just stepped up and said “I am sorry,” and went back to work. You have some that have ended up in immediate termination of employment and now you hear that the employer is trying to erase all evidence that he was ever employed with them over the last twenty plus years.  Many of these allegations would not stand up to a criminal court review due to the lack of physical evidence but would probably be a crap shoot in civil court, where it is more of a dog and pony show than a trial.  Would we really find out what happened is true or not.

Sexual harassment is wrong. It has been part of human history even before it was put into some form of history.  Everyone has done it in their lives.  To what degree is the question.  To affect someone’s career or livelihood is wrong in my book.  We have seen it from rock stars, to Hollywood, to politics, and all the way down to elementary schools.

One could say it is the “Snowball Effect” which results in the “Shotgun Effect.” You get one or two people to make such an allegation being true or not and soon everyone wants a slice of the pie or an ax to grind.  Thus is the mass of civil court filings hoping for a slip of the tongue for the pounce of a criminal court ruling and watch the money flow.

In this politically correct world that is being shoved down our throats now is missing the rule book. The rules are being made up as whichever side is trying to make a point that fits their agenda.  But as history of human nature shows us the pendulum will swing back, at the wrong time for someone.  The question is, “Will we learn the Truth or something else?”

Hey GOP Congress!!

We heard all through the election about how you will Repeal and Replace Obamacare. What the heck are you doing?  You had eight years to put something together and you are more worried about possible Russian influence in the election.   Maybe it is time to make you re-read all those history books you used to sit on in school.  You know the real history books.  Not the ones that have been slanted so far to the right or left that are now meaningless.

Since the beginning of this country, there have been other countries trying to influence the election of our leaders to their own ends. Just as we have been trying to influence the election or appointment of leaders in other countries for our own ends.  You can start with the first election of our very first President.  You had our allies the French, who supplied us with weapons, ships, ammo, and personnel that helped train the colonists.  You had our enemies, The British and their Prussian mercenary forces.  Who even after being defeated desperately wanted the trade goods and some relations with the former colonies.  You can follow every election since to see who wanted to influence our elected leaders to gain an upper hand or foothold in the world we live in.

In today’s world, I am not worried about outside influence as much as I am the free lunches, dinners, and vacations you get from all those corporations and special PAC’s that have no problem handing money or special gifts under the table and nothing is done about them. How much are the Health Insurance companies giving you to sit on the problem?  Hell, the Democrats rammed Obamacare through without it ever being read and you cannot even put anything on paper!

So, why are you and the Democrats so worried about Trump?

Is it because he is not of or part of your established order?

Are you worried that the American people are getting tired of you?

Will the next election bring more elected representatives that are not part of your little club?

The above questions will start being asked if you do not get off your rears and actually start getting things done.

WELCOME to THE GREATEST show on Earth!!!

No! No! No!

I am not talking about the circus that just closed its doors.

The OTHER one!!!

I am talking about the one that our Constitution took some offered land and called it the District of Columbia.

You know, Washington D.C.

That place on the East coast of the United States of America where we elect supposedly honest and honorable people from our own states and send them to run our country and make or change laws to make us better.

Huh, why are you looking at me like that?

Boy, that is one blank look.

Ok, let’s try this again.

You remember that screen in “Star Wars” where an old monk, a snot-nosed kid, and a couple of droids in a floating convertible stopped on a rise just before that desert city and mumbled something about “Never will you find a bigger den of …something, something, something in your life.” And everyone in the United States that hears it will think of that city on the East coast with D.C. at the end of it.

Was that a spark of recognition in your eyes?

I think it is.

To continue, that city is the national capital of our country. Our constitution went on to further set up our government in three branches, The Legislative, The Executive, and The Judicial.  This is to supply some necessary checks and balances to the system of government we use.

The Legislative Branch is voted on by the citizens of the state they are wishing to represent. A national election is carried out for the top two positions of The Executive Branch. We use a two-party system that are currently called Democrats and Republicans.  The two parties have had other names in the past.  Sometimes a Third party candidate jumps in and will get the votes when neither party can find a good candidate the citizens like or support.

Now with all of that, we find another group trying to horn in to make themselves part of the government when from the beginning, the public has asked them to be the messengers or the TRUTH finders for the public. The Media.

Before I go much further, I will say that there are some good reporters out there.  Most of them are independent, freelance, or work for some local independent media.  There are some that do work for the big media corps that have that haven’t quit gone over to the dark side and still try to find the TRUTH before saying or doing anything.

But, everyone still has to eat, so these reporters still turn in their stories to be published or picked up by one of these conglomerates to get a steady wage. Once one of the big media company types pick up their stories it has to massaged to fit the company line or political slant.  Like everything now days, it has to have just the right slant.  Politicians have always tried to be friendly with the Press to get them to run ‘free’ propaganda for them or try to smear the other candidate but now the press has become just one large paparazzi circus.

If they do print or say something that is true and well documented, the public has no way to know it is the actual Truth. The Press has lost most of the public confidence that they used to have.  The Press is just a part of the circus we now read or watch every day.

I have read or heard that there are members of congress that have done or said many stupid and possibly illegal things while being in office and that there are actual official investigator and police reports that are in the files of prosecutors and even though there are some that say they are immune by the constitution for these deeds. These are men and women that stood on the platforms and said many times over that they are very honorable people with great integrity convinced the public with the help of the press to get them elected.  I will go with the opinion, that the press are sometimes unwitting accomplices in this act.  But when the TRUTH finally can come out they are usually the first to try to cover it up rather than admit they may have been wrong.  If the public knows, the public can decide if that person should stay in office or if the infraction does not rate an outcry, may allow the re-election of the individual.  But the Truth is out there for all to see.

The circus we are now watching is reminiscing of days gone by. It really brings back the song by Don Henley called “Dirty Laundry”.  If you haven’t heard it.  Look it up and listen.
